About S

Sue with Artwork by Yvonne Gilbert My first Newcastle Salon opened at Ashburton Road, Gosforth in 2002. The premises were in a terrible state when I leased the property and I was confronted with having to redesign and redecorate the place and on a limited budget. Despite everything the business flourished and I stayed at Ashburton till September 2008. The expanding business eventually outgrew the small shop and I relocated to the present much larger premises at Station Road, South Gosforth, which I opened in 2008.

Apprentice Stylist Fenwicks 1970; Qualified Stylist, Fenwicks 1972.
I taught hair styling in Athens from 1976 to 1980. Later that year I moved to Jersey and worked there from 1980 to 1988. At first I worked at Guys and Dolls hair Salon in St Helier for one year and then opened my own Salon which I ran until I left in 1988. After returning to Newcastle I opened a small hair salon in Shotley Bridge which grew steadily in reputation and clientele and by 2002 I was ready for a new challlenge so I moved to Ashburton Road in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.
